The 2017-18 Victorian State Budget was handed down on the 2 May 2017. The Victorian Government has delivered a budget surplus of $1.2 billion in 2017-18 . The Government has announced significant commitments to small business and the tourism industry including increasing the payroll tax threshold to $650,000 by 2018-19.
Small businesses in regional areas of Victoria will also be eligible for a 25 per cent discount on their payroll tax. The Budget also includes $25 million for Visit Victoria as well as $20 million to Victoria’s Major Events Fund.
