With the 2010 Award season now behind us, it’s time to look forward to next year!
The Awards season is now over for another year and we will immediately move to opening nominations for caterers to enter the 2011 Awards (and opening the nominations for the WA Regional Awards). Before the end of the year we will also be inviting consumers to nominate their local restaurants to enter the awards. Materials will be sent out in the next few weeks so that restaurants can promote their business to consumers in their area.
The national Restaurant of the Year went to Restaurant Amusé in Perth. This is the first time a Western Australian restaurant has achieved this honour. Personal congratulations to Hadley and Carolynne on their success. As an aside, Carolynne (Troy) has also just joined the Restaurant & Catering Board in WA. We look forward to her contribution. Acer Arena, in Sydney, won the Caterer of the Year, which is also deserving of recognition. Overall, nearly 300 entries in the Awards were caterers, an increase on previous years. Both the winners of the major awards tell their story in this edition of Restaurant & Catering. Whilst the entries in the 2010 awards were a little down overall, there was still great competition between the nominees. Congratulations to the industry at large for again showing off the great product that is the restaurant and catering business.
