Organics, Natural and Free-From zones
Catering to the growing trend for healthy alternatives, the Organics Zone is back and larger than ever before! Focusing on organic products and sitting alongside the Natural and Free-From zone, this caters for all dietary requirements in one stop!
The Lions’ Den
After an incredible response to the launch in Sydney last year, the Lions’ Den is launching in Melbourne and opening up the floor to aspiring businesses with winning ideas. Watch as start-ups get honest, real-world feedback from the panel of CEO industry experts who have the market understanding, strategic foresight and business savvy to know what works.
Women in Foodservice
Launched in 2014, the Women in Foodservice Charity Event invites women in the food industry to come together, celebrate their knowledge and be inspired by successful women while networking with peers. All profits from the event are donated to charity.
In 2018, Australian journalist/food author Dani Valent will lead a discussion with innovators including Sharlee Gibb, Shannon Martinez, Melissa Leong, Katy Barfield and Jo Barrett about their inspiring adventures in food.
All Things Bakery
Delivering new techniques, flavours, equipment and products, 2018 brings bakers together to share ideas and try new products. Combine that with the Official Great Aussie Pie & Sausage Roll Competitions, Bake Skills and the Live Bakery by EOI showcasing the latest in baking live on the show floor—and your bakery needs are covered!
Fitout and Design
New to Fine Food Australia, Fitout and Design showcases what’s hot—and what’s required—for a great venue fitout and design. The area will cover everything from tangibles such as furniture, carpet, tiles, and music systems to the brains behind the perfect fitout including builders, architects and operational specialists.
Pizza & Pastry Revolution
The Le 5 Stagioni Pizza Competition will return for another exciting year and will be heating things up on the show floor like only a hotly contested pizza competition can! Watch the best pizza makers from around the country battle it out to be crowned the country’s best pizza maker by the man crowned the world’s best—Johnny Di Francesco of 400 Gradi.
Education across multiple sectors
Three stages of education and workshops will run free sessions daily. What is common to all stages and sessions are the practical takeaways and learnings.
At the Innovations in Patisserie Stage presented by Callebaut, watch talented pastry chefs as they demonstrate key techniques for working with chocolate and pastry, as well as showcasing new equipment technology. Visitors will be inspired by the likes of Kirsten Tibballs, the Zumbo team, Darren Purchese, Jitsk Heyninck and Jonny Pisanelli.
At the Talking Food stage presented by Silverchef, industry professionals share their knowledge on everything from sustainability to international expansion, and address controversial aspects of running a business in the industry.
The World Trophy of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate is one of the most important event in the international pastry industry —and this year the selections to represent Australia at the biannual event in Milan will be held at Fine Food Australia.
Watch chefs battle it out for prestigious titles—creating works of art from pastry, gelato and chocolate. Judges include Adriano Zumbo, Luigi Stivaletta and Barbara Castiglione.
