OzHarvest announces date for 2019 CEO CookOff

Registration is now open for OzHarvest’s flagship fundraiser, CEO CookOff™, which will take place on Monday, 25 March 2019 at Sydney’s Royal Hall of Industries.

OzHarvest ambassador and top chef Colin Fassnidge is putting the call out for CEOs and corporate teams to register early, pledging an exclusive dinner event at OzHarvest HQ cooked by himself and celebrity chef Manu Feildel for the first 50 sign-ups.

The CEO CookOff™ brings together 150 top business leaders and corporate teams to create and serve a gourmet feast for 1,500 vulnerable guests. Each team is guided by one of Australia’s top chefs, as they come together to serve a three-course meal. The unique event combines fun, food and fundraising for Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, OzHarvest.

OzHarvest Founder and CEO Ronni Kahn knows the value of great teamwork and how this event has made an incredible impact by raising over $9million in the last seven years.

“The CEO CookOff offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership with compassion and purpose, and to break bread with some of the most vulnerable people in our community,” Kahn said.

“With over three million people in Australia experiencing food insecurity each year, this event allows the business world to address this serious issue which often goes unseen.”

Chef ambassador Colin Fassnidge has supported CEO CookOff since it started in 2012 and loves the camaraderie on the night between his fellow chefs and business leaders.

“The vibe in the kitchen is great, but the true magic of the night is cooking for and serving guests who you know are doing it tough. I love seeing their faces light up as they enjoy some delicious food with friends and forget their troubles for a few hours.

“Even better, the event raises money for OzHarvest, and next year we’re looking at raising $3 million to help us deliver six million meals back to those in need.”
