Facing the future

A forum to be held at the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival tackles some major issues in hospitality

Last year was a cracking year for the Association. We had a significant win in the Fair Work Commission, the launch of Restaurant Australia, we made huge headway professionalising apprenticeships in both front and back of house, and we built strong services for our members while bolstering our financial base. I couldn’t ask for more.

This year needs to also achieve significant milestones if we’re to keep our industry intact. Many members have expressed concern about the precarious nature of our businesses, particularly in locations in which the growth in demand has slowed (ie. Perth and Adelaide).

To determine what the industry needs, the Association in conjunction with the Noosa Inernational Food & Wine Festival, is holding a Restaurant Industry Summit. This will take place on May 14 and 15 in Noosa Heads, Queensland.

The Summit will include a series of forums and follow-up sessions where we’ll assemble an Agenda for 2015-2016 to return sustainability to the restaurant and catering sector.

The Noosa International Food & Wine Festival is one of the great food and wine events in Australia. The inclusion of the Summit makes it one not to be missed—the flyer attached to this edition of R&CA provides booking details.
