In less than four months, hospitality operators and suppliers from around the country will congregate under one roof for Foodservice Australia 2018, the fastest growing food exhibition in Australia.
Held at ICC Sydney on 27-29 May, the industry show will host over 8000 restaurateurs, caterers, chefs, café operators, distributors, hoteliers, bakers and patissiers—all coming to see, smell, taste and buy the latest gear for their kitchens and restaurants.
Event director Tim Collett said the show is moving to a new level this year, with the decision to locate it in the new convention centre at Darling Harbour.
“This stunning new building is located right in the centre of Sydney and gives us room for more exhibitors and special events,” Collett said. “It will be much more accessible for industry visitors and we expect a jump in attendance.”
Collett said he and his team are listening to feedback on the new building and have confined the show to one level with lots of space so visitors can see everything for their hospitality business in just a few hours.
“The focus is on providing solutions to everyday issues as well as inspiration and new connections. By keeping the show focused there will be time for those one-on-one interactions that are the heart and soul of our industry.”
As well as all the exhibitors, visitors to the event can enjoy a number of workshops and competitions such as this year’s launch of an international chef team competition called ACF Restaurant Challenge (formerly known as Battle of the Pacific).
“Coming to a show not only introduces you to the latest trends and products to improve efficiency, it also invigorates you on a personal level—and opens your eyes to how exciting and diverse our industry really is,” Collett said.
Visitors can register for free online before the show or pay $20 at the door. Note that as a business event, entry is restricted to only people over 16 who work in the food or hospitality industry.
