Australia to compete in World Trophy of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate

On 21-22 October, Australia will compete for the first time at the biannual World Trophy of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate, which takes place at Host Fiera Milano, Italy. Euroquip Food Service Equipment, an international partner of the International Federation of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate, is a principal sponsor of the Australian team. In a statement, Euroquip said it was looking forward to this amazing opportunity for Australia’s pastry chefs.

Frankie Ferrante (21), Georgia Clisdell (20), Lucy Powell (20) and their coach Luigi Stivaletta from TAFE NSW will present in Italy some elaborate sculptures and decadent desserts based on the competition theme “the world of chocolate and coffee”; they promise to incorporate some very Australian elements.

Sixteen teams from five continents will meet this October in Milan. The Australian Pastry Team will compete for the very first time against current world champion, Japan, as well as established countries like Italy and France.

Good luck, guys!
