The RCIAA has come to a close, but the initiative continues to receive high praise for its highly successful promotion of industry programs.
Well, the Restaurant & Catering Industry Action Agenda (RCIAA) is over! Four years after the launch of the initiative, the implementation period has come to an end. The Association should be proud of its achievements through the Action Agenda. The government believes it has been one of the most productive Action Agendas undertaken in the last decade.
The support the Association has received from the government over this period has been extraordinary, with the final report citing some programs totaling over $2.1 million. This has meant the industry has made substantial progress in many areas, including workplace relations, education and training.
Another Action Agenda legacy is the Certified Professional Restaurateurs program. The CPR initiative attracted some great interest at the outset, but is now easing off. The State Associations have undertaken to ramp up the promotion of the scheme over the coming months. I urge you to consider being part of this scheme. It will help us professionalise the industry and provide real benefits to you as well.
Your State Association can help you with details of the Action Agenda (in the form of a final report) and give you information on the certification program. Please contact them for further details.
