A big year

migrationUndoubtedly, 2017 has been a big year for R&CA and the café, restaurant and catering sector, with significant activity being recorded on a number of fronts. On the policy side of things, R&CA is in the middle of compiling its annual pre-Budget submission, outlining the major funding commitments sought from Treasury as part of the 2018-19 Federal Budget. R&CA is also continuing its advocacy in the Department of Employment’s Review of the Skilled Migration Occupation Lists, ensuring that our members are able to sponsor cooks, chefs and café and restaurant managers to meet the growing demand for skilled workers.

Industrial relations and migration continue to be key drivers for the Association as we continue to offer members these services at rates much below the market. R&CA is also working on not only maintaining its various partnerships with existing sponsors but also expanding and reaching out to new partners who can help our members grow, prosper and build strong profitable businesses. On behalf of the Association, I wish all our members the very best compliments of the season, and don’t forget—our workplace relations advisory service is open all through the holidays on 1300 722 878.
